Abstract
The present invention provides a palladium(II) complex of formula (1). R12, m, and X are described in the specification. The invention also provides a process for the preparation of the complex, and its use in carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom coupling reactions.

A palladium(II) complex of formula (1):
- wherein:
- Cy is cyclohexyl;
- R12 is an organic group having 1-20 carbon atoms;
- m is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5;
- and
- X is a coordinating anionic ligand.

A process for the preparation of a complex of formula (1), the process comprising the step of reacting a complex of formula (3) with a monodenatate biaryl ligand of formula (4) to form the complex of formula (1),
- wherein,
- Cy is cyclohexyl;

- m is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5;
- and
- X is a coordinating anionic ligand.
