Patch system for monitoring and enhancing sleep and circadian rhythm alignment

A patch for determining and tracking one or more activity/inactivity patterns, polysomnographic patterns and circadian states of a subject, the patch comprising:

• a microcontroller, volatile and non-volatile memory, a communications interface, and a battery;
• one or more electrical pads configured to contact skin of the subject and collect and monitor polysomnographic data selected from the group consisting of brainwave data, eye movement data and muscle tone data, consciousness patterns, and activity/inactivity patterns measuring rest and activity cycles via actigraphy for the subject;
• wherein the microcontroller is configured to estimate or determine, a circadian phase of the subject based on the collected and monitored polysomnographic data;
• one or more actuating devices configured for controlled transdermal delivery of one or more agents that alter circadian rhythm of the subject through at least one nozzle based on the estimated or determined circadian phase;
• wherein the delivery of the one or more agents is configured to modulate one or more of:
• the circadian phase and consciousness patterns comprising sleep/wake patterns of the subject in response to the environment of the subject;
• and
• a container encasing the microcontroller, the volatile and non-volatile memory, the communications interface, the battery, the one or more electrical pads, the one or more actuating devices, and the at least one nozzle.
