Abstract
Systems and methods are described for presenting identifiers for media assets recommended to users identified using facial recognition. Each of a first and a second user in a vicinity of user equipment is identified, and a first recommended media asset and a second media asset are determined based on respective user profiles of the first user and the second user. A first identifier selectable to access the first recommended media asset and a second identifier selectable to access the second recommended media asset are generated for display, and a recommended media asset associated with a selected identifier is generated for display.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- identifying, using facial recognition, a plurality of users in a vicinity of user equipment, wherein the plurality of users includes at least a first user and a second user;
- determining a first recommended media asset for the first user based on a user profile of the first user;
- determining a second recommended media asset for the second user based on a user profile of the second user;
- generating for presentation a graphical user interface including each of:
- a first identifier selectable to access the first recommended media asset;
- a second identifier selectable to access the second recommended media asset;
- a first category identifier associated with the first recommended media asset determined based on the user profile of the first user;
- and
- a second category identifier associated with the second recommended media asset determined based on the user profile of the second user;
- and
- in response to receiving selection of the first identifier or the second identifier:
- generating for presentation, to the first user and the second user, the recommended media asset associated with the selected identifier;
- and
- updating each of the user profile of the first user and the user profile of the second user based on the received selection having caused the recommended media asset to be generated for presentation to the first user and the second user.
A system comprising:
- input/output (I/O) circuitry;
- and
- control circuitry configured to:
- identify, using facial recognition, a plurality of users in a vicinity of user equipment, wherein the plurality of users includes at least a first user and a second user;
- determine a first recommended media asset for the first user based on a user profile of the first user;
- determine a second recommended media asset for the second user based on a user profile of the second user;
- generate for presentation a graphical user interface including each of:
- a first identifier selectable to access the first recommended media asset;
- a second identifier selectable to access the second recommended media asset;
- a first category identifier associated with the first recommended media asset determined based on the user profile of the first user;
- and
- a second category identifier associated with the second recommended media asset determined based on the user profile of the second user;
- and
- in response to receiving, by the I/O circuitry, selection of the first identifier or the second identifier:
- generate for presentation, to the first user and the second user, the recommended media asset associated with the selected identifier;
- and
- update each of the user profile of the first user and the user profile of the second user based on the received selection having caused the recommended media asset to be generated for presentation to the first user and the second user.
