Abstract
In one general aspect, a method can include detecting at least one indicator of user-initiated interaction with a computing device, obtaining data related to a demographic of a user of the computing device, identifying a current state of the computing device, determining that content displayed on a first display device included in the computing device is to be casted to a second display device separate from the computing device based on the at least one indicator of the user-initiated interaction with the computing device, the data related to a demographic of a user of the computing device, and the current state of the computing device, and casting the content displayed on the first display device to the second display device.
Claims21
A method for media playback, the method comprising:
- determining, using a computing device having one or more sensors, whether context information associated with the computing device indicates that the computing device is currently presenting a media content item on the computing device based on sensor data from the one or more sensors;
- determining, using the computing device, whether location information associated with the computing device indicates that the computing device is proximal to a media playback device that is capable of creating a casting session;
- determining whether an interaction with the computing device is indicative of a cast action;
- and
- in response to determining that context information indicates that the computing device is currently presenting the media content item on the computing device, determining that the location information indicates that the computing device is proximal to the media playback device capable of creating the casting session, and determining that the interaction with the computing device is indicative of the cast action, creating the casting session between the computing device and the media playback device that includes causing the media content item to be casted to the media playback device.
A system for media playback, the system comprising:
- one or more sensors;
- and
- a hardware processor that:
- determines whether context information associated with a computing device indicates that the computing device is currently presenting a media content item on the computing device based on sensor data from the one or more sensors;
- determines whether location information associated with the computing device indicates that the computing device is proximal to a media playback device that is capable of creating a casting session;
- determines whether an interaction with the computing device is indicative of a cast action;
- and
- in response to determining that context information indicates that the computing device is currently presenting the media content item on the computing device, determining that the location information indicates that the computing device is proximal to the media playback device capable of creating the casting session, and determining that the interaction with the computing device is indicative of the cast action, creates the casting session between the computing device and the media playback device that includes causing the media content item to be casted to the media playback device.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing computer executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method for media playback, the method comprising:
- determining, using a computing device having one or more sensors, whether context information associated with the computing device indicates that the computing device is currently presenting a media content item on the computing device based on sensor data from the one or more sensors;
- determining, using the computing device, whether location information associated with the computing device indicates that the computing device is proximal to a media playback device that is capable of creating a casting session;
- determining whether an interaction with the computing device is indicative of a cast action;
- and
- in response to determining that context information indicates that the computing device is currently presenting the media content item on the computing device, determining that the location information indicates that the computing device is proximal to the media playback device capable of creating the casting session, and determining that the interaction with the computing device is indicative of the cast action, creating the casting session between the computing device and the media playback device that includes causing the media content item to be casted to the media playback device.
