Abstract
An automated management tool is provided for crop management including the application of all primary agricultural production inputs, including fertilizers, nutrients and other agricultural chemicals, as well as for retrieval and analysis of data pertaining to the site/farm.
Claims16
An automated crop management method, the method comprising:
- (i) providing a storage memory and a computer processor in communication with the storage memory;
- (ii) collecting, in the storage memory, prospect information, including property characteristics and crop production goals relative to a new prospect and a crop, where the crop has a single lifespan that includes a plurality of growth stages from pre-planting through to harvesting;
- (iii) collecting, in the storage memory, irrigation information, including irrigation equipment and procedures relative to the new prospect;
- (iv) creating, using the processor, an initial input tasks program that correlates the collected prospect information, information relative to the crop, and the collected irrigation information, wherein the initial input tasks program includes an initial nutrient application task and a schedule for completing said initial nutrient application task during the lifespan of the crop, and where said initial nutrient application task includes applying fertilizer to the crop during a first growth stage of the crop during the single lifespan of the crop and prior to harvesting;
- (v) preparing to implement the initial input tasks program;
- (vi) implementing said initial input tasks program by electronically communicating an instruction to automated machinery that performs the initial nutrient application task and then electronically communicates a completion code;
- and
- (vii) confirming that said nutrient application task of said initial input tasks program is completed according to said schedule;
- (viii) after said step of confirming that said nutrient application task is complete, gathering additional information during the lifespan of the crop, where said additional information includes plant growth data, weather forecast data comprising at least cloud cover, field device data, and laboratory data comprising at least plant tissue test data to detect toxicities;
- (ix) creating, using the processor, an updated input tasks program based upon the additional data gathered during the lifespan of the crop, where the updated input tasks program includes an updated nutrient application task and a schedule for completing said updated nutrient application task during the lifespan of the crop, where said updated nutrient application task includes applying at least one of water, soil amendments, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers, and natural growth promoters to the crop during a second growth cycle of the crop during the single lifespan of the crop and prior to harvesting;
- (x) implementing said updated input tasks program by electronically communicating an instruction to automated machinery that performs the updated nutrient application task and then electronically communicates a completion code;
- and
- (xi) confirming that said updated nutrient application task of said updated input tasks program is completed according to said schedule.
A non-transitory computer readable medium for implementing an automated crop management method, the automated crop management method comprising:
- (i) providing a storage memory and a computer processor in communication with the storage memory;
- (ii) collecting, in the storage memory, prospect information, including property characteristics and crop production goals relative to a new prospect and a crop, where the crop has a single lifespan that includes a plurality of growth stages from pre-planting through to harvesting;
- (iii) collecting, in the storage memory, irrigation information, including irrigation equipment and procedures relative to the new prospect;
- (iv) creating, using the processor, an initial input tasks program that correlates the collected prospect information, information relative to the crop, and the collected irrigation information, wherein the initial input tasks program includes an initial nutrient application task and a schedule for completing said initial nutrient application task during the lifespan of the crop, and where said initial nutrient application task includes applying fertilizer to the crop during a first growth stage of the crop during the single lifespan of the crop and prior to harvesting;
- (v) preparing to implement the initial input tasks program;
- (vi) implementing said initial input tasks program by electronically communicating an instruction to automated machinery that performs the initial nutrient application task and then electronically communicates a completion code;
- (vii) confirming that said nutrient application task of said initial input tasks program is completed according to said schedule;
- (viii) after said step of confirming that said nutrient application task is complete, gathering additional information during the lifespan of the crop, where said additional information includes plant growth data, weather forecast data comprising at least cloud cover, field device data, and laboratory data comprising at least plant tissue test data to detect toxicities;
- (ix) creating, using the processor, an updated input tasks program based upon the additional data gathered during the lifespan of the crop, where the updated input tasks program includes an updated nutrient application task and a schedule for completing said updated nutrient application task during the lifespan of the crop, where said updated nutrient application task includes applying at least one of water, soil amendments, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers, and natural growth promoters to the crop during a second growth cycle of the crop during the single lifespan of the crop and prior to harvesting;
- (x) implementing said updated input tasks program by electronically communicating an instruction to automated machinery that performs the updated nutrient application task and then electronically communicates a completion code;
- and
- (xi) confirming that said updated nutrient application task of said updated input tasks program is completed according to said schedule.
An automated crop management system comprising storage memory and a processor, the storage memory including instructions to be executed by the processor to:
- (i) create an initial input tasks program by correlating collected prospect information, information relative to a crop, and collected irrigation information, wherein the prospect information includes property characteristics and crop production goals relative to a new prospect, wherein the crop has a single lifespan that includes a plurality of growth stages from pre-planting through to harvesting, wherein the irrigation information includes information regarding irrigation equipment and procedures relative to the new prospect, wherein the initial input tasks program includes an initial nutrient application task and a schedule for completing said initial nutrient application task during the single lifespan of the crop, and wherein the initial nutrient application task includes applying fertilizer to the crop during a first growth stage of the crop during the single lifespan of the crop and prior to harvesting;
- (ii) implement the initial input tasks program by electronically communicating an instruction to automated machinery that performs the initial nutrient application task and then electronically communicates a completion code;
- (iii) confirm that said nutrient application task of said initial input tasks program is completed according to said schedule;
- (iv) create an updated input tasks program based upon additional data gathered after the system confirms that the nutrient application task of the initial input tasks program is completed according to the schedule, where the system creates the updated input tasks program during the single lifespan of the crop, where the updated input tasks program includes an updated nutrient application task and a schedule for completing the updated nutrient application task during the single lifespan of the crop, where the updated nutrient application task includes applying at least one of water, soil amendments, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers, and natural growth promoters to the crop during a second growth cycle of the crop during the single lifespan of the crop and prior to harvesting, where the additional information is gathered during the lifespan of the crop, and where the additional information includes plant growth data, weather forecast data comprising at least cloud cover, field device data, and laboratory data comprising at least plant tissue test data to detect toxicities;
- (v) implement the updated input tasks program by electronically communicating an instruction to automated machinery that performs the updated nutrient application task and then electronically communicates a completion code;
- and
- (vi) confirm that the updated nutrient application task of said updated input tasks program is completed according to said schedule.
