Abstract
A system includes a memory and at least one processor to disable automatic prioritization of at least one data protection operation in a computer network, begin the at least one data protection operation in the computer network, continually monitor the computer network and determine that a condition has occurred in the computer network, activate automatic prioritization of the at least one data protection operation in the computer network, and instruct backup server tooling software to direct backup data for the at least one data protection operation to move from a first target storage repository to a second target storage repository.
Claims21
A system comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor to execute instructions stored in the memory to:
- begin at least one backup operation directing backup data from local storage to a first target storage repository, wherein the first target storage repository is located remotely from the local storage;
- continually monitor for one or more conditions occurring at the first target storage repository that affect the at least one backup operation;
- and
- in response to detecting at least one of the one or more conditions occurring at the first target storage repository:
- dynamically select a second target storage repository that is located remotely from the first target storage repository;
- and
- cause the at least one backup operation in progress to bypass the first target storage repository and direct backup data to the second target storage repository.
A method comprising:
- beginning at least one backup operation directing backup data from local storage to a first target storage repository;
- continually monitoring, by a processor, for one or more conditions occurring at the first target storage repository that affect the at least one backup operation;
- and
- in response to detecting at least one of the one or more conditions occurring at the first target storage repository:
- dynamically selecting a second target storage repository that is located remotely from the first target storage repository;
- and
- causing the at least one backup operation in progress to bypass the first target storage repository and direct backup data to the second target storage repository.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a computing device cause the computing device to perform operations, the operations comprising:
- beginning at least one backup operation directing backup data from local storage to a first target storage repository;
- continually monitoring, by a processor, for one or more conditions occurring at the first target storage repository that affect the at least one backup operation;
- and
- in response to detecting at least one of the one or more conditions occurring at the first target storage repository:
- dynamically selecting a second target storage repository that is located remotely from the first target storage repository;
- and
- causing the at least one backup operation in progress to bypass the first target storage repository and direct backup data to the second target storage repository.
