Reducing data loss in remote databases

A system for reducing data loss in a remote database, the system comprising:

• at least one electronic processor communicatively coupled to the remote database and configured to:
• receive a user input in an application on a user device requesting to exit a user session established between the application and the remote database;
• in response to receiving the user input, determine via the application whether there are any outstanding requests to be performed on the remote database for the user session;
• in response to the application determining that there is one or more outstanding requests for the user session,
• display a first dialog on the user device, the first dialog including a message informing a user to wait while the one or more outstanding requests are being fulfilled;
• after a predetermined wait time has expired, determine via the application whether there are any outstanding requests remaining to be fulfilled;
• in response to the application determining that there is at least one outstanding request remaining:
• perform a request fulfillment check on the at least one outstanding request using the application to check on a status of the outstanding request;
• display a second dialog on the user device, the second dialog including a message with information pertaining to the request fulfillment check and including a control for exiting the user session without waiting for the at least one outstanding request to be fulfilled;
• and
• in response to the control being actuated, cause the application to exit the user session.
