Abstract
A system includes memory and one or more processors programmed to operate a logical layer, a media link layer, and a slot layer. The logical layer is configured to send and receive object data to a host according to an object storage protocol. The media link layer is configured to map the object data to virtual media addresses. The slot layer is configured to map the virtual media addresses to physical addresses of data storage devices.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- memory;
- and
- one or more processors programmed to operate a logical layer, a media link layer, and a slot layer,
- the logical layer programmed to receive object data in the form of key-value pairs from a host according to an object storage protocol and split the object data into data chunks,
- the media link layer programmed to split the data chunks into smaller sets of data and to map the smaller sets of data to respective virtual media addresses, and
- the slot layer configured to map the virtual media addresses to physical addresses of data storage devices.
