Pretreatment liquid for inkjet recording, inkjet recording apparatus, and image forming method

An inkjet recording apparatus that forms an image on an image formation area of a recording medium, comprising:

• a pretreatment section configured to eject a pretreatment liquid for inkjet recording toward the image formation area of the recording medium;
• a light exposure section configured to perform light exposure on the image formation area of the recording medium to which the pretreatment liquid for inkjet recording has been ejected;
• and
• a recording head configured to form the image by ejecting an ink toward the image formation area of the recording medium subjected to the light exposure, wherein
• the pretreatment liquid for inkjet recording contains a photobase generator that produces an organic amine compound through light exposure,
• the ink is a water-based ink containing an aqueous medium and pigment particles containing a pigment and a cationic resin, and
• the cationic resin includes a repeating unit having a piperidinium structure.
