Abstract
The invention provides methods related to improving heart function.
Claims2
A method of treating heart failure comprising:
- inducing dyssynchronous ventricle contraction in a subject suffering from synchronous heart failure with reduced global ventricular function;
- maintaining the dyssynchronous contraction for a period of time;
- and
- restoring synchronous contraction of the subject's ventricle;
- wherein alternation between dyssynchronous contraction and restoration of synchronous contraction proceeds for a period of time spanning at least a few hours to several weeks and is sufficient to stimulate molecular and cellular changes in the subject's failing heart to improve its function;
- and
- wherein the method may be repeated as needed to treat the subject.
