Abstract
A prosthetic mitral valve includes an anchor assembly, a strut frame, and a plurality of replacement leaflets secured to the annular strut frame. The anchor assembly includes a ventricular anchor, an atrial anchor, and a central portion therebetween. The ventricular anchor and the atrial anchor are configured to flare radially outwards relative to the central portion. The annular strut frame is disposed radially within the anchor assembly and is attached to the anchor assembly. The central portion is configured to align with a native valve orifice and the ventricular anchor and the atrial anchor are configured to compress native cardiac tissue therebetween.
Claims20
A prosthetic mitral valve having a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, the prosthetic mitral valve comprising:
- an anchor assembly comprising an atrial anchor, a ventricular portion, and a central portion therebetween, the atrial anchor and the ventricular portion each flaring outward relative to the central portion in the expanded configuration, the ventricular portion including a plurality of engagement members for engaging native tissue, wherein the atrial anchor includes a plurality of atrial cells extending around a circumference of the atrial anchor and the ventricular portion includes a plurality of ventricular cells extending around a circumference of the ventricular portion, the plurality of atrial and ventricular cells comprising diamond-shaped cells, the anchor assembly including an anchor atrial tip defining a first aperture;
- an annular strut frame disposed radially within the anchor assembly, the annular strut frame attached to the anchor assembly in the collapsed configuration, the annular strut frame includes a plurality of struts, at least two of the plurality of struts flaring outwardly relative to a central axis of the strut frame in the expanded condition and converging to a strut frame atrial tip defining a second aperture;
- and
- a plurality of replacement leaflets secured to the annular strut frame,
- wherein, in the expanded configuration, the plurality of atrial cells defines a first largest diameter and the plurality of ventricular cells defines a second largest diameter less than the first largest diameter, the anchor atrial tip connected to the strut frame atrial tip at a position radially inward relative to the first largest diameter.
A prosthetic mitral valve having a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, the prosthetic mitral valve comprising:

- an annular strut frame disposed radially within the anchor assembly, the annular strut frame attached to the anchor assembly in the collapsed configuration, the annular strut frame includes a plurality of struts, at least two of the plurality of struts flaring outwardly relative to a central axis of the strut frame in the expanded condition and converging to a strut frame atrial tip defining a second aperture;
- and
- a plurality of replacement leaflets secured to the annular strut frame,
- wherein, in the expanded configuration, the plurality of atrial cells defines a first largest diameter and the plurality of ventricular cells defines a second largest diameter less than the first largest diameter, the anchor atrial tip connected to the strut frame atrial tip at a position radially inward relative to the first largest diameter.
A prosthetic mitral valve having a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, the prosthetic mitral valve comprising:
