Methods, devices, and systems related to analyte monitoring

A glucose monitoring system, comprising:

• an on body unit comprising:
• a housing configured to be positioned on a skin of a subject;
• a glucose sensor, at least a portion of which is configured to be positioned under the skin of the subject and in contact with a bodily fluid;
• and
• sensor electronics coupled with the glucose sensor and disposed within the housing, the sensor electronics comprising a communication module, a processor, and memory for storing instructions,
• wherein the processor is communicatively coupled with an accelerometer,
• wherein the glucose sensor and the sensor electronics are coupled via conductive contacts prior to positioning the housing on the skin of the subject, and
• wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
• generate data indicative of a glucose level based on one or more samples
• obtained by the glucose sensor at a sampling frequency,
• receive input information from the accelerometer, and
• adjust a variable data setting based at least in part on the received input information from the accelerometer while the data indicative of the glucose level continues to be generated and outputted to a display of a reader device, wherein the variable data setting specifies a logging frequency for storing the one or more samples that were obtained by the glucose sensor at the sampling frequency in the memory at the logging frequency, wherein the logging frequency is different from the sampling frequency.
