Abstract
The present invention provides a weighted article for assisting sleep, wherein the weighted article includes heating and cooling means. The weighted article is perforated by a series of channels, which contribute to the weight of the weighted article and allow the passage of a fluid that is continuously pumped throughout the weighted article while the weighted article is in use. The weighted article is connected to a control unit including means to thermoelectrical heat or cool the fluid such that a user of the weighted article is able to increase or decrease their body temperature.
Claims17
A thermally regulated article, comprising:
- a first cover layer and a second cover layer;
- a weighted layer attached to the first cover layer;
- and
- a thermally controlled layer disposed between and attached to the weighted layer and the second cover layer;
- wherein thermally regulated fluid flows into and out of the thermally controlled layer;
- wherein the weighted layer includes a plurality of weight elements;
- and
- wherein the thermally controlled layer includes two sublayers and a plurality of shapes, wherein the two sublayers are welded together at the edges of the plurality of shapes and at the edges of the two sublayers, and wherein the thermally regulated fluid flows between the two sublayers of the thermally controlled layer.
A system for thermally regulating an article, comprising:
- a control unit, connected to at least one supply line and at least one return line;
- a weighted article, comprising:
- a first cover layer and a second cover layer;
- a weighted layer attached to the first cover layer;
- and
- a thermally controlled layer disposed between and attached to the weighted layer and the second cover layer;
- wherein thermally regulated fluid flows into and out of the thermally controlled layer;
- wherein the weighted layer includes a plurality of weight elements;
- wherein the control unit heats or cools the thermally regulated fluid;
- wherein the thermally controlled layer is connected to the at least one supply line and the at least one return line;
- and
- wherein the thermally controlled layer includes two sublayers and a plurality of shapes, wherein the two sublayers are welded together at the edges of the plurality of shapes and at the edges of the two sublayers, and wherein the thermally regulated fluid flows between the two sublayers of the thermally controlled layer.
A system for thermally regulating an article, comprising:
- a control unit, connected to at least one supply line and at least one return line;
- a weighted article, comprising:
- a first cover layer and a second cover layer;
- a thermally controlled layer disposed between and attached to the first cover layer and the second cover layer;
- and
- a weighted layer;
- wherein thermally regulated fluid flows into and out of the thermally controlled layer;
- and
- wherein the weighted layer includes a plurality of weight elements;
- wherein the control unit heats or cools the thermally regulated fluid;
- wherein the thermally controlled layer is connected to the at least one supply line and the at least one return line;
- wherein the at least one supply line includes a first supply line and a second supply line, wherein the at least one return line includes a first return line and a second return line, wherein the first supply line and the first return line are connected to the thermally controlled layer, and wherein the second supply line and the second return line are connected to a separate device;
- and
- wherein the thermally controlled layer includes two sublayers and a plurality of shapes, wherein the two sublayers are welded together at the edges of the plurality of shapes and at the edges of the two sublayers, and wherein the thermally regulated fluid flows between the two sublayers of the thermally controlled layer.
