Abstract
The present invention provides for methyl)-4-amino-2R-methyl butanoic acid ethyl ester sodium salt, a novel process for the preparation of crystalline Form B of N-(3-carboxyl-1-oxopropyl)-(4S)-(p-phenylphenylmethyl)-4-amino-2R-methyl butanoic acid ethyl ester sodium salt.
Claims2
A process for the preparation of crystalline form B of sacubitril sodium, the process comprising:
- a) treating sacubitril with a sodium source to form a reaction mixture;
- b) heating the reaction mixture and azeotropic removal of water from the reaction mixture;
- and
- c) isolating the crystalline form B of sacubitril sodium;
- and wherein the crystalline form sacubitril sodium has a PXRD pattern as shown in FIG. 3.
