Abstract
A power tool including a rear cover simplifies assembly. A driver drill includes a motor including a stator and a rotor rotatable relative to the stator, a motor housing accommodating the motor, being cylindrical, and including a left housing and a right housing being laterally separable, a grip connected to a lower portion of the motor housing, an output unit in front of the motor and driven by the motor, and a rear cover supporting a rear portion of the rotor and closing a rear portion of the motor housing. The rear cover is held and fastened between the left housing and the right housing.
Claims20
A power tool, comprising:
- a motor including a stator and a rotor rotatable relative to the stator around a rotation axis;
- a motor housing (i) accommodating the motor, (ii) that is cylindrical around the rotation axis, and (iii) including a left housing and a right housing being laterally separable;
- a grip connected to a lower portion of the motor housing;
- an output unit in front of the motor and driven by the motor;
- and
- a rear cover (i) supporting a rear portion of the rotor, (ii) closing a rear portion of the motor housing, and (iii) having a connection portion that (a) engages and is directly and solely fixed against axial movement relative to the motor housing by the left housing and the right housing axially inward from a rearmost surface of the left housing and right housing and (b) radially overlaps the left housing and the right housing with respect to the rotation axis;
- wherein the connection portion is attached to the left housing and the right housing by a tongue and groove connection.
A power tool, comprising:
- a motor including a stator and a rotor rotatable relative to the stator around a rotation axis;
- a motor housing (i) accommodating the motor, (ii) that is cylindrical around the rotation axis, and (iii) including a left housing and a right housing being laterally separable;
- a grip connected to a lower portion of the motor housing;
- an output unit in front of the motor and driven by the motor;
- a rear cover (i) supporting a rear portion of the rotor, (ii) closing a rear portion of the motor housing, and (iii) having a connection portion that (a) engages and is directly and solely fixed against axial movement relative to the motor housing by the left housing and the right housing axially inward from a rearmost surface of the left housing and right housing and (b) radially overlaps the left housing and the right housing with respect to the rotation axis;
- and
- a bearing (i) supporting the rear portion of the rotor and (ii) radially overlapping the motor;
- wherein the connection portion is attached to the left housing and the right housing by a tongue and groove connection.
A power tool, comprising:
- a brushless motor including
- a stator including a coil,
- a rotor including a magnet and rotatable relative to the stator, and
- a rotor shaft fixed to the rotor, a rotation axis of the rotor shaft defining a front-rear direction of the power tool;
- a left motor housing (i) leftward of the brushless motor and (ii) integrally including
- a left holding portion holding a left portion of the stator, and
- a left protruding portion protruding rightward from an inner peripheral surface of the left motor housing;
- a right motor housing (i) rightward of the brushless motor and (ii) integrally including
- a right holding portion holding a right portion of the stator, and
- a right protruding portion protruding leftward from an inner peripheral surface of the right motor housing;
- a left grip (i) extending downward from the left motor housing and (ii) integral with the left motor housing;
- a right grip (i) extending downward from the right motor housing and (ii) integral with the right motor housing;
- and
- a rear cover (i) rearward of the brushless motor and (ii) including
- a left recess (i) on a left portion of the rear cover and (ii) receiving the left protruding portion, and
- a right recess (i) on a right portion of the rear cover and (ii) receiving the right protruding portion,
- wherein the rear cover is fixed to the left motor housing and the right motor housing.
