Abstract
This document provides methods and materials for preventing cytokine release syndrome (CRS). For example, methods and materials for using one or more catecholamine inhibitors to prevent a mammal from developing CRS are provided.

A method for preventing cytokine release in a mammal, wherein said method comprises administering a catecholamine inhibitor to a mammal identified as being at risk of developing cytokine release syndrome (CRS), and wherein said catecholamine inhibitor prevents cytokine release in said mammal.
