Abstract
A hybrid medical device that can aid in reconstructive or augmentative surgery of the breast is disclosed. The device can utilize a suitable biological collagen tissue matrix combined with a synthetic material, for example, that can impart a high initial strength to the repair site while permitting proper healing and revitalization of the implanted device.
Claims31
An implantable support device comprising:
- a scaffold having a first end, a second end, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein the first edge and the second edge extend between the first end and the second end;
- a first leader, wherein the first leader has a first section and a second section that extend between the first and second ends, wherein the first leader has a first apex and a second apex, and wherein the first and second apexes are farther apart than the first and second sections;
- and
- a second leader, wherein the second leader extends from the first edge to the second edge, and wherein the second leader extends over the first and second sections.
An implantable support device comprising:
- a scaffold having a first end, a second end, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein the first edge and the second edge extend between the first end and the second end;
- a first leader, wherein the first leader has a first section and a second section that extend between the first and second ends, wherein the first leader is configured to deliver a resistive force through the implantable support device;
- and
- a second leader, wherein the second leader extends from the first edge to the second edge, and wherein the second leader extends over the first leader.
An implantable support device comprising:
- a scaffold having a first end, a second end, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein the first edge and the second edge extend between the first end and the second end;
- and
- a first leader, wherein the first leader has a first section and a second section that extend between the first and second ends, wherein the first and second sections are inside the scaffold from the first end to the second end, and wherein the first leader has a first apex and a second apex, and wherein the first apex is opposite the second apex.
An implantable support device comprising:
- a scaffold having a first end, a second end, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein the first edge and the second edge extend between the first end and the second end;
- and
- a first leader, wherein the first leader has a first section and a second section that extend between the first and second ends, wherein the first leader has a first apex and a second apex, and wherein the first and second apexes are farther apart than the first and second sections,
- wherein the scaffold comprises holes, apertures, slits, and/or pores, and wherein tissue and/or fluid is passable through the holes, apertures, slits, and/or pores, and
- wherein the holes, apertures, slits, and/or pores are aligned or offset through adjacent layers of the scaffold.
An implantable support device comprising:
- a scaffold having a first end, a second end, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein the first edge and the second edge extend between the first end and the second end;
- and
- a first leader, wherein the first leader has a first section and a second section that extend between the first and second ends, wherein the first leader is configured to deliver a resistive force through the implantable support device,
- wherein the scaffold comprises a channel from a first external side of the scaffold to a second external side of the scaffold, wherein the first external side of the scaffold is opposite the second external side, and wherein tissue is growable in the channel and/or fluid is flowable through the channel.
An implantable support device comprising:
- a scaffold having a first end, a second end, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein the first edge and the second edge extend between the first end and the second end;
- a first leader, wherein the first leader has a first section and a second section that extend between the first and second ends, and wherein the first and second sections are inside the scaffold from the first end to the second end;
- and
- a second leader, wherein the second leader extends from the first edge to the second edge, and wherein the second leader extends over the first leader.
An implantable support device comprising:
- a scaffold having a first end, a second end, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein the first edge and the second edge extend between the first end and the second end;
- and
- a first leader, wherein the first leader has a first section and a second section that extend between the first and second ends, and wherein the first and second sections are inside the scaffold from the first end to the second end,
- wherein the scaffold comprises channels, and wherein tissue is growable in the channels and/or fluid is flowable through the channels.
