Abstract
Methods and systems for managing a premises are disclosed. The premises may comprise a premises system and a gateway in communication with the premises. The gateway may send, to a remote device, premise data received from the premises system.

A method comprising:
- receiving, by a computing device located at a premises and from a premises device located at the premises, premises data;
- determining, based on the premises data, a rule;
- modifying, by the computing device and based on the rule, a current mode associated with the premises;
- and
- sending, by the computing device and to a server device located external to the premises, a data message indicating the modified current mode.
