Abstract
A system and method for detecting a single-molecule using an integrated circuit which includes at least one membrane having a nanopore located between first and second reservoirs and a low-noise preamplifier having an electrode formed on the surface thereof is provided. The method includes passing a target molecule through the nanopore, and measuring a current through the nanopore to detect the presence of a biomolecular entity, if any.
Claims14
A method for detecting at least one molecule using a circuit comprising a plurality of measurement channels, wherein each measurement channel of the plurality of measurement channels comprises a membrane having a nanopore located between first and second electrolyte reservoirs and an integrated preamplifier having an electrode formed on a surface of the integrated preamplifier and provided within at least one of the first electrolyte reservoir or the second electrolyte reservoir, comprising:
- causing the at least one molecule to pass through the nanopore;
- and
- measuring a current through the nanopore through the electrode on the surface of the integrated preamplifier to detect a presence of the at least one molecule.
