Abstract
In embodiments of the invention, the present invention is directed to a contact hearing system, the contact hearing system including: an ear tip, the ear tip including a transmit coil wherein the transmit coil is wound around a core including, at least in part, a ferromagnetic material; and a contact hearing device including a receive coil wherein the receive coil is wound around a core including, at least in part, a non-ferromagnetic material.
Claims28
A contact hearing system comprising:
- a transmit coil positioned in an ear tip wherein the transmit coil comprises an electrical coil wound on a ferrite core;
- and
- a receive coil positioned on a contact hearing device wherein the receive coil comprises an electrical coil wound on a non-ferrite core,
- wherein the receive coil is a component of a receive coil assembly, and wherein a center of a bandpass of the receive coil assembly is tuned to be above a carrier frequency of a signal transmitted by the transmit coil.

A contact hearing system, the contact hearing system comprising:
- an ear tip configured to be placed in an ear canal of a user, the ear tip comprising a transmit coil wherein the transmit coil is wound around a core comprising, at least in part, a ferromagnetic material;
- and
- a contact hearing device configured to be placed in an ear canal and on a tympanic membrane of the user, the contact hearing device comprising a receive coil wherein the receive coil is wound around a core comprising, at least in part, a non-ferromagnetic material,
- wherein the contact hearing device comprises a receive circuit assembly comprising the receive coil and a balanced armature transducer coupled to the receive circuit assembly, the balanced armature transducer being configured to be driven by the receive circuit assembly to vibrate the tympanic membrane of the user.
