Abstract

This application provides a data stream processing method and a network element device. The method includes: obtaining, by a first network element device, a first data stream, where the first data stream includes a first data unit and a first data padding unit; and adjusting, by the first network element device, a quantity of second data padding units in the first data stream, where a relative position of the first data unit and the first data padding unit in the first data stream is the same as a relative position of the first data unit and the first data padding unit in a second data stream, and the second data stream is an adjusted first data stream. When adjusting a rate, the first network element device does not add or delete the first data padding unit in the first data stream.

Dependent claims

A data stream processing method, comprising:

obtaining, by a first network element device, a first data stream, wherein the first data stream comprises a first data unit, a first data padding unit, and a second data padding unit;
and
adjusting, by the first network element device, a quantity of the second data padding unit in the first data stream based on a first rate and a second rate, the first rate being a rate for the first network element device to receive the first data stream, and the second rate being a rate at which the first network element device sends a second data stream, wherein a relative position of the first data unit and the first data padding unit in the first data stream is the same as a relative position of the first data unit and the first data padding unit in the second data stream, and the second data stream is an adjusted first data stream.

A data stream processing method, comprising:

obtaining, by a first network element device, a first data stream, wherein the first data stream comprises a first data unit, a first data padding unit, and a second data padding unit;
and
determining, by the first network element device, a second data stream by replacing the second data padding unit with the first data padding unit, to obtain the second data stream,
wherein the first data padding unit is an idle data unit, and
wherein the second data stream comprises the first data unit and the first data padding unit, and a relative position of the first data unit and the first data padding unit in the first data stream is the same as a relative position of the first data unit and the first data padding unit in the second data stream.
