Abstract
A thermoformed, reusable, recyclable shipping container comprising a thermoformed shell and a plurality of separate load bearing columns secured within said shell at various locations whereby the stacking load imposed on the containers will be at least partially borne by the load bearing columns.

A stackable container comprising:
- a thermoformed shell having a bottom and perimeter walls;
- a plurality of unconnected vertical columns located within the stackable container and the perimeter walls, wherein at least some of said columns are positioned adjacent to and within said perimeter walls;
- wherein
- said thermoformed shell sheathes and secures said columns in position;
- and
- said columns are configured to at least partially bear a stacking load imposed by a container positioned above the stackable container.
