Abstract
Methods and apparatus for temperature sensing in a detector system. Dark current from pixels in a pixel array of the detector system can be filtered to remove noise and processed to determine a temperature of the pixel array from the filtered dark current. Calibration of the dark current for a range of temperatures can be performed. In embodiments, the pixels comprise photodiodes.
Claims22
A method, comprising:
- receiving dark current from pixels in a pixel array, wherein the pixels comprise photodetectors configured to generate a high frequency photonic signal comprising pulses in response to light incident on the pixel array;
- filtering the dark current to remove the high frequency photonic signal and background noise;
- and
- determining a temperature of the pixel array from the filtered dark current.

A system, comprising:
- a pixel array comprising pixels, wherein the pixels comprise photodetectors configured to generate a high frequency photonic signal comprising pulses in response to light incident on the pixel array;
- a filter to filter dark current from the pixels in the pixel array for removing the high frequency photonic signal and background noise;
- and
- a circuit to determine a temperature of the pixel array from the filtered dark current.
