Abstract
Disclosed herein are various implementations of communications connectors. In some implementations, a communications plug may include a housing and a body positioned in the housing. A flexible printed circuit board (PCB) may be wrapped at least partially around the body, a and a plurality of metal contact pads may be positioned on the flexible PCB to mate with plug interface contacts (PICs) of a communications jack when the communications plug is inserted into the communications jack.
Claims11
A communications plug comprising:
- a plug housing including a protruding shape configured to fit into a receiving opening of a communications jack, the plug housing further including openings at an outer surface of a front end;
- a body positioned in the housing;
- a flexible printed circuit board (PCB) wrapped at least partially around the body;
- and
- a plurality of metal contact pads included on the flexible PCB and positioned to wrap over a first edge of the body to be accessible through the openings included in the plug housing to communicate with plug interface contacts (PICs) of the communications jack when the communications plug is inserted into the communications jack.
