An embodiment relates to the transmission of a data set to a central data store. A data set is received via a data source. Furthermore, country information is optionally received via the data source. Furthermore, a data classification is determined based on the data set via the data source. Furthermore, the data classification and optionally the country information are sent to a server via the data source. Furthermore, data transmission information from the server is received via the data source. In this context, the data transmission information is based on the data classification and optionally on the country information and the data transmission information relates to the permissibility of the transmission of the data set. Furthermore, the data set is transmitted to the central data store in dependence on the data transmission information.

Embodiments described herein relate generally to transmission of a data set and provision of data transmission information.
Medical apparatuses, in particular imaging medical apparatuses such as computed tomography scanners, magnetic resonance scanners, X-ray apparatuses or ultrasound apparatuses are frequently connected via a data link to a control center or a central data store. This data link enables, for example, remote maintenance of the medical apparatus from the control center. In this context, the medical apparatus and the control center can be located in different countries.
The above-described properties, features and advantages of this invention and the manner in which these are achieved will become clearer and more plainly comprehensible in conjunction with the following description of the example embodiments explained in more detail in conjunction with the drawings. This description does not restrict the invention to these example embodiments. In the different figures, the same components are given identical reference characters. The figures are not generally to scale. The figures show:
Where not explicitly stated, but advisable and within the spirit of the invention, individual example embodiments, individual sub-aspects or features thereof can be combined or interchanged without departing from the scope of the present invention. Where applicable, advantages of the invention described with reference to one example embodiment also apply to other embodiments without being explicitly named.
FIG. 1 shows units participating in the transmission of a data set,
In a first embodiment, the invention relates to a method for the transmission of a data set to a central data store. The method is based on the fact that a data set is received via a data source. Herein, the reception of the data set in particular takes place via a first interface of the data source. The method is furthermore based on the fact that a data classification is determined based on the data set via the data source; in this context, the determination in particular takes place via a first computing unit of the data source. Furthermore, this data classification and the country information is sent to a server via the data source, in particular via a second interface of the data source. Furthermore, data transmission information is received from the server via the data source, wherein the reception in particular takes place via the second interface of the data source. In this context, the data transmission information is based on the country information and the data classification, and the data transmission information relates to the permissibility of the transmission of the data set. Furthermore, the data set is transmitted to the central data store in dependence on the data transmission information.
A data set is a group of data fields with related content. In particular, a data set can be a file, a part of a file and/or an entry in a database. A data set can in particular be a medical data set. In this context, a medical data set comprises medical data relating to a patient (for example personal data, medical image data, laboratory reports, structured diagnoses and/or unstructured diagnoses) and/or data relating to a medical apparatus (for example log data).
A data classification relates to the type of a data set and/or the type of the content of a data set. In particular, the data classification can comprise the format of the data set (for example “PDF”, “Text”, “Dicom”). In particular, a data classification can comprise a value from a predetermined list of possible values (for example, a value from the list “public”, “internal” and “confidential”) that applies to the data set; furthermore a data classification can comprise one or more key-value pairs relating to the data set (for example with the key “medical data” and the value “True”, or with the key “personal data” and the value “False”). In particular, the data classification can comprise whether the respective data set is a medical data set and/or personal data. Furthermore, the data classification can also comprise metadata of the data set, for example the file name of the data set or a product model of the medical apparatus that generated the data set.
