Delivery assembly for crop input delivery system

A delivery assembly for delivering a crop input to an agricultural implement while the agricultural implement is traveling in a forward direction of travel during field operations so as to minimize downtime of the agricultural implement, the delivery system comprising:

• a mobile vehicle holding a supply of the crop input;
• a boom having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the boom supported from the mobile vehicle, the distal end of the boom adapted to extend relative to the mobile vehicle;
• a conduit having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the conduit in fluid communication with the supply of crop input, the distal end of the conduit supported by the distal end of the boom;
• a first coupler supported from the distal end of the boom, the first coupler coupled to the distal end of the conduit;
• a second coupler in fluid communication with a storage tank disposed on the agricultural implement, the second coupler configured to fluidly couple with the first coupler;
• a clamp assembly movable between a clamping position and a release position, wherein, in the clamping position, the first and second couplers are held in fluid engagement with one another, and wherein, in the release position, the first and second couplers are fluidly disengaged from one another;
• a mounting assembly operably supporting the second coupler on the agricultural implement, the mounting assembly including a spring which enables resilient movement of the second coupler in an axial direction with respect to the mounting assembly;
• a clocking structure including a strap resiliently connecting the second coupler with the mounting assembly, the clocking structure enabling resilient rotational movement of the second coupler with respect to the mounting assembly;
• whereby, the mobile vehicle is adapted to be driven into a position relative to the agricultural implement while the agricultural implement continues traveling in the forward direction of travel during field operations, and whereby the boom is adapted to extend relative to the mobile vehicle to position the first and second couplers into fluid engagement with one another so as to transfer the crop input from the supply of crop input on the mobile vehicle to the storage tank on the agricultural implement when the clamp assembly is in the clamping position, all while the agricultural implement continues traveling in the forward direction of travel during field operations.
