Abstract
A rocker arm assembly selectively opening first and second engine valves. The assembly includes a rocker arm and a valve bridge operably associated with the rocker arm and including a main body and a lever rotatably coupled to the main body. The main body is configured to engage the first engine valve, and the lever is configured to engage the second engine valve.
Claims14
An intake valve rocker arm assembly selectively opening first and second intake valves and comprising:
- a first intake rocker arm;
- a valve bridge operably associated with the first intake rocker arm and including a main body and a bridge pin rotatably coupling a lever to the main body, the main body configured to engage the first intake valve, and the lever configured to engage and open the second intake valve;
- and
- a second intake rocker arm configured to selectively engage and rotate the lever about the bridge pin to open the second intake valve.
An exhaust valve rocker arm assembly selectively opening first and second exhaust valves and comprising:
- an exhaust rocker arm;
- and
- a valve bridge operably associated with the rocker arm and including a main body and bridge pin rotatably coupling a lever to the main body, the main body configured to engage the first exhaust valve, and the lever configured to engage and open the second exhaust valve,
- wherein the lever is configured to rotate about the bridge pin to open the second exhaust valve to perform at least one of an internal exhaust gas recirculation (IEGR) event and an early exhaust valve opening (EEVO) event.
An exhaust valve rocker arm assembly selectively opening first and second exhaust valves and comprising:
- an exhaust rocker arm;
- and
- a valve bridge operably associated with the rocker arm and including a main body and a bridge pin rotatably coupling a lever to the main body, the main body configured to engage the first exhaust valve, and the lever configured to rotate about the bridge pin to engage and open the second exhaust valve,
- wherein the exhaust rocker arm includes a cylinder deactivation (CDA) capsule configured to move between an activated position and a deactivated position.
