Abstract
Provided is a powered air blower unit for delivering air flow to a user with constant air flow or varying speeds of air flow. The air blower unit may also include a filter for purifying the air.
Claims20
A respirator configured to provide air to a protective device, comprising:
- a filter configured to filter the air;
- a blower fan configured to provide continuous air flow at variable speeds;
- a sensor configured to detect an environmental condition;
- an air duct configured to direct air from the blower fan to an exhaust location, the blower fan configured to blow air through the air duct;
- and
- a blower controller configured to:
- control the blower fan to adjust an airflow speed of the blower fan within an airflow speed range according to a predetermined airflow speed pattern, the airflow speed pattern having at least a first airflow speed within the airflow speed range and a second airflow speed within the airflow speed range;
- and
- modify at least one of the first airflow speed or the second airflow speed in response to the detected environmental condition.

- an air duct configured to direct air from the blower fan to an exhaust location, the blower fan configured to blow air through the air duct;
- and
- a blower controller configured to:
- during a normal airflow mode, control the blower fan to provide the air flow
- during an intermittent airflow mode, control the blower fan to adjust an airflow speed of the blower fan within an airflow speed range according to an airflow speed pattern, the airflow speed pattern having at least a first air flow speed and a second air flow speed within the airflow speed range;
- and
- trigger the intermittent airflow mode or the normal airflow mode based on detecting the environmental condition.
