Abstract
Systems and methods for digital X-ray imaging are disclosed. An example portable X-ray scanner includes: an X-ray detector configured to generate digital images based on incident X-ray radiation; an X-ray tube configured to output X-ray radiation; a computing device configured to control the X-ray tube, receive the digital images from the X-ray detector, and output the digital images to a display device; a power supply configured to provide power to the X-ray tube, the X-ray detector, and the computing device; and a frame configured to: hold the X-ray detector, the computing device, and the power supply; and hold the X-ray tube such that the X-ray tube directs the X-ray radiation to the X-ray detector.
Claims19
A portable X-ray scanner, comprising:
- an X-ray detector configured to generate first digital images based on incident X-ray radiation;
- an X-ray tube configured to output the X-ray radiation;
- a targeting camera having a field of view directed toward the X-ray detector and configured to generate second digital images of a target of the X-ray tube, wherein the targeting camera generates the second digital images based on a different wavelength than the X-ray detector;
- a computing device configured to control the X-ray tube, receive the first digital images from the X-ray detector, receive the second digital images from the targeting camera, output the first digital images in real-time to a display device while the X-ray tube is activated;
- a battery configured to provide power to one or more of the X-ray tube, the X-ray detector, the targeting camera, and the computing device;
- a frame configured to:
- hold the X-ray detector, the targeting camera, the computing device, and the battery;
- hold the X-ray tube such that the X-ray tube directs the X-ray radiation to the X-ray detector;
- and
- enable a single user to position the X-ray detector and the X-ray tube while carrying the frame during output of the X-ray radiation;
- a first handle coupled to a middle section of the frame;
- a second handle coupled to a same side of the frame as the X-ray tube;
- and
- an input device configured to control output of the X-ray tube, the input device being manipulable using a hand of the operator that is holding the second handle while the user is carrying the frame.
