Abstract
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for characterizing the interaction of free radicals with various materials and the use of known interactions to isolate free radical generation from free radical interaction with a target molecule.
Claims18
A system comprising:
- a free radical source configured to generate a plurality of free radicals;
- an interaction chamber comprising a free radical detection species;
- a material mount configured to receive a material of interest, the material mount positioning the material of interest between the free radical source and the interaction chamber;
- and
- a material property analyzer, an electrical property analyzer, a chemical property analyzer, a mechanical property analyzer, or a structural property analyzer operatively coupled to the interaction chamber to analyze the free radical detection species,
- wherein the free radical detection species undergoes a measurable change in at least one property after interaction with one or more of the plurality of free radicals,
- wherein at least a portion of the plurality of free radicals move from the free radical source, through the material of interest when mounted in the material mount, and into the interaction chamber,
- wherein the material property analyzer, the electrical property analyzer, the chemical property analyzer, the mechanical property analyzer, or the structural property analyzer measures the measurable change and characterizes one or more properties of the material of interest using the measurable change.
