Abstract
A lens and/or a view screen of an electronic device having at least one case can be cleaned by wiping the view screen with a cleaning component wherein the cleaning component is configured to selectively couple to the at least one case or some other substrate using a magnetic attractive force. The cleaning devices may have secondary applications such as securing fly fishing lures, activating or deactivating a device having a magnetic switch, or preventing sunglasses from sinking. They may also be manufactured without a cleaning component for use with the secondary applications.
Claims31
A system comprising:
- a first portable switching device magnetically coupled to a first portable electronic device
- wherein:
- the first portable switching device comprises:
- a first case comprising:
- a recessed holder that holds the first portable electronic device defined by a bottom, sides, and open top;
- and
- a hinge connecting a lid to the holder, wherein the lid has a complementary recessed element that is fixed in place within the lid and contiguously corresponds to two or more points of a fixed complementary raised shape of the first electronic device;
- and
- the first portable electronic device comprises:
- a second case;
- an electronic circuit that is responsive to the first switching device;
- at least one component comprising the raised shape wherein the raised shape is configured with a beveled edge, the raised shape being substantially curved around at least one axis, with the raised shape and beveled edge fitting within the lid and with two or more points of the raised shape that contiguously correspond to the complementary recess of the lid;
- a finger-activated sensor that transmits commands to play or pause a remote device;
- and
- a first magnet fully embedded within the raised shape which is employed in coupling the first electronic device and the first switching device;
- the bottom, sides, and open top of the holder further comprise a recess fixed in place and configured to correspond to a complementary and contiguous surface element of the first electronic device that is fixed in place;
- the first case functions to protect the second case when the electronic device and switching device are coupled;
- the recess of the holder is deeper than the recess of the lid;
- when the first electronic device is magnetically coupled to the first switching device, the lid is configured to employ a second fully embedded magnet to secure the recessed lid in a closed position against the holder, actuate the electronic circuit, and to actuate, activate, or deactivate the first electronic device, or send the first electronic device into a power savings mode, the first magnet fully embedded within the raised shape is at least partially within the recess of the lid when the lid is secured in a closed position against the holder;
- and
- the first electronic device is wireless earplugs configured for wireless communications.
A system comprising:
- a first portable switching device magnetically coupled to a first portable electronic device with contours
- wherein:
- the first portable switching device comprises:
- a first case comprising:
- a recessed holder defined by a bottom, sides, and open top configured to hold the first electronic device;
- and
- a hinge connecting a lid to the holder, wherein the lid has a complementary recessed element contiguous to the contours of the first electronic device that is fixed in place within the lid and contiguously corresponds to the contours of a fixed complementary raised shape of the first electronic device;
- the first portable electronic device comprises:
- a second case;
- a fixed mechanical structure;
- an electronic circuit that is responsive to the first switching device;
- at least one component wherein the contour of the raised shape is configured with a beveled edge, the raised shape being substantially curved around at least one axis;
- with the raised shape and beveled edge contiguously corresponding to the contour of the complementary recess of the lid;
- a finger-activated sensor that transmits commands to play or pause a remote device;
- and
- a first magnet fully embedded within the raised shape which is employed in coupling the first electronic device and the first switching device;
- the bottom, sides, and open top of the holder further comprise a recess fixed in place and configured to contiguously correspond to a complementary curved surface element of the first electronic device that is fixed in place;
- the first case functions to protect the second case when the first electronic device and first switching device are coupled;
- the recess of the holder is deeper than the recess of the lid;
- when the first electronic device is magnetically coupled to the first switching device, the lid is configured to employ a second fully embedded magnet to secure the recessed lid in a closed position against the holder, actuate the electronic circuit, and to actuate, activate, or deactivate the first electronic device, or send the first electronic device into a power savings mode;
- and
- the first electronic device is wireless earplugs.
