Abstract
A multi-degree of freedom ice skate post that connects an ice skate blade to the sole of an ice-skating boot generally comprises a plurality of adjustable elements that include a pronate/supinate platform, a bi-directional module and a side/side module. In some configurations, the pronate/supinate platform is configured to move the ice skate blade in a pronate and supinate direction. In some configurations the pronate supinate platform is connected with the bi-directional module providing movement of the ice skate blade in the fore and aft position. In some configurations the side/side module is connected with the bi-directional module providing movement in a side by side direction. Additional configurations can include vertical adjustments as well.
Claims14
A skate post quick release arrangement comprising:
- an elongated male mounting bar that slidingly cooperates with a female channel;
- a threaded cylinder either connected to the elongated male mounting bar or the female channel;
- a threaded ring mating with the threaded cylinder, the threaded ring configured to move along the threaded cylinder when rotated about the threaded cylinder,
- the elongated male mounting bar and the female channel locked in a compressed relationship when the threaded ring is in a tightened position,
- the elongated male mounting bar and the female channel unlocked in a non-compressed relationship when the threaded ring is in a loosened position,
- the skate post quick release arrangement possessing a first end configured to attach to a skate overmold that essentially encapsulates an elongated skate runner, and
- the skate post quick release arrangement possessing a second end configured to attach to an ice-skating boot sole.
A bi-directional cylinder arrangement comprising:
- a threaded cylinder possessing screw threads;
- an upper threaded ring and the lower threaded ring matingly engaged with the screw threads;
- a pair of fore/aft channel walls extending from a bottom side of the threaded cylinder, the fore/aft channel walls defining a fore/aft channel;
- a pair of side/side channel walls extending from a top side of the threaded cylinder, the side/side channel walls defining a side/side channel, the fore/aft channel is essentially offset from the side/side channel by 90°,
- the side/side channel slidingly engaged with a side/side bar,
- the side/side bar extending from an ice-skating sole connecting post configured to connect to an ice-skating sole, and
- the fore/aft channel configured to slidingly connect with a fore/aft bar extending from an ice skate blade system.
