A method of preventing and/or treating a viral infection in a patient, the method comprising the steps of:
- selecting a patient in need of preventing and/or treating a viral infection;
- administering to the patient at least one first agent which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides and at least one additional agent selected from the group consisting of minocycline, doxycycline, tetracycline, tetracycline derivatives, and combinations thereof;
- wherein the viral infection is prevented and/or treated in the patient.
A method of preventing and/or treating a viral infection in a patient, the method comprising the steps of:
- selecting a patient in need of preventing and/or treating a viral infection;
- administering to the patient a diet which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides and at least one agent selected from the group consisting of minocycline, doxycycline, tetracycline, tetracycline derivatives, and combinations thereof;
- wherein the viral infection is prevented and/or treated in the patient.
A method of preventing and/or treating a viral infection in a patient, the method comprising the steps of:
- (i) selecting a patient in need of preventing and/or treating a viral infection;
- (ii) administering to the patient at least one first agent which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides and at least one additional agent selected form the group consisting of minocycline, doxycycline, tetracycline, tetracycline derivatives, and combinations thereof;
- and
- (iii) prior to, concurrently with, or subsequently to step (ii), administering to the patient a diet which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides;
- wherein the viral infection is prevented and/or treated in the patient.
A method of decreasing or inhibiting viral replication in a mammal, the method comprising the steps of:
- selecting a mammal at risk for contracting a viral infection;
- and
- administering to the mammal at least one agent which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides;
- wherein viral replication is decreased or inhibited in the mammal, thereby avoiding clinical disease in the mammal.
A method of decreasing or inhibiting viral replication in a mammal, the method comprising the steps of:
- selecting a mammal at risk for contracting a viral infection;
- and administering to the mammal a diet which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides;
- wherein viral replication is decreased or inhibited in the mammal, thereby avoiding clinical disease in the mammal.
A method of decreasing or inhibiting viral replication in a mammal, the method comprising the steps of:
- (i) selecting a mammal at risk for contracting a viral infection;
- (ii) administering to the mammal at least one agent which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides;
- and
- (iii) prior to, concurrently with, or subsequently to step (ii), administering to the mammal a diet which depletes guanosine-containing nucleosides and nucleotides;
- wherein viral replication is decreased or inhibited in the mammal, thereby avoiding clinical disease in the mammal.
