Abstract
Powdered nutritional products containing branched-chain amino acids and a sugar alcohol are provided. The branched-chain amino acids in the powdered nutritional product exhibit improved solubility and thus improved dissolution upon reconstitution of the powdered nutritional product.

A powdered nutritional product comprising:
- at least 15 wt. % of a branched-chain amino acid;
- and
- a sugar alcohol;
- wherein a weight ratio of the branched-chain amino acid to the sugar alcohol is from 7:1 to 40:1;
- and
- wherein the powdered nutritional product exhibits improved dissolution of the branched-chain amino acid when 17.6 g of the powdered nutritional product is mixed with 16 fluid ounces of water at 21° C. and stirred at 400 rpm for 30 seconds, as compared with a comparative powdered nutritional product that is the same as the powdered nutritional product except that the comparative powdered nutritional product does not include the sugar alcohol.

- and
- myo-inositol;
- wherein a weight ratio of the branched-chain amino acid to the myo-inositol is from 7:1 to 40:1;
- and
- wherein the powdered nutritional product exhibits improved dissolution of the branched-chain amino acid when 17.6 g of the powdered nutritional product is mixed with 16 fluid ounces of water at 21° C. and stirred at 400 rpm for 30 seconds, as compared with a comparative powdered nutritional product that is the same as the powdered nutritional product except that the comparative powdered nutritional product does not include the myo-inositol.

- at least 15 wt. % of an oligopeptide, wherein the oligopeptide comprises at least one branched-chain amino acid per oligopeptide molecule;
- and
- a sugar alcohol;

- wherein the powdered nutritional product exhibits improved dissolution of the branched-chain amino acid when 17.6 g of the powdered nutritional product is mixed with 16 fluid ounces of water at 21° C. and stirred at 400 rpm for 30 seconds, as compared with a comparative powdered nutritional product that is the same as the powdered nutritional product except that the comparative powdered nutritional product does not include the sugar alcohol.
