Abstract
A multi-layer device comprising a first substrate and a first electrically conductive layer on a surface thereof, the first electrically conductive layer having a sheet resistance to the flow of electrical current through the first electrically conductive layer that varies as a function of position.
Claims10
An electrochromic device comprising a first substrate, a first electrically conductive layer on the first substrate, a second substrate, a second electrically conductive layer on the second substrate, and a first electrode layer comprising a first electrochromic material that is located between the first and the second electrically conductive layers, wherein:
- the electrochromic device is switchable from a more transmissive state to a less transmissive state;
- the first and second electrically conductive layers have sheet resistances to the flow of electrical current through the first and second electrically conductive layers that vary as a function of position in the first and second electrically conductive layers, respectively;
- and
- the sheet resistances of the first and second electrically conductive layers are asymmetric to one another and cause the electrochromic device to have a directional switch.
