A scalable greenhouse gas capture system comprising:
- an exhaust logistics and removal system configured to receive captured exhaust removed from a plurality of vehicles, the exhaust logistics and removal system comprising at least one pump for receiving the captured exhaust and configured to draw an outflow of captured exhaust from the plurality of vehicles and at least one exhaust holding tank connected to and in fluid communication with the at least one pump and configured to store the captured exhaust, and a fuel supply system for supplying a flow of fuel to the plurality of vehicles;
- one or more fuel dispensers in fluid communication with the fuel supply system and configured to dispense fuel to a vehicle of the plurality of vehicles, each fuel dispenser including:
- a controller having a user interface configured to enable:
- (a) selection to dispense fuel to the vehicle, including a selection of a fuel type for pumping to the vehicle,
- (b) selection to off-load captured exhaust from the vehicle;
- and
- (c) transaction of payment for fuel dispensed;
- and
- a multi-function nozzle assembly connected to a fuel and exhaust conduit, and configured to receive the flow of fuel from the fuel supply system through the fuel and exhaust conduit and dispense the fuel into a fuel tank of the vehicle, and to remove the captured exhaust from the vehicle and direct the outflow of captured exhaust along the fuel and exhaust conduit for collection by the exhaust logistics and removal system;
- wherein the multi-function nozzle assembly comprises:
- an exhaust nozzle defining an exhaust passage in fluid communication with the fuel and exhaust conduit, the exhaust nozzle having a first body portion with an inlet end configured to engage an exhaust port of the vehicle and form a seal between the exhaust nozzle and the exhaust port and a second body portion configured to connect to the fuel and exhaust conduit;
- and
- a fuel nozzle located at least partially within the exhaust passage of the exhaust nozzle, the fuel nozzle defining a fuel passage therein through which the fuel flows from the fuel supply system and is dispensed to the fuel tank of the vehicle, the fuel nozzle having a rear end connected to a fuel intake line that provides fluid communication between the fuel passage and the fuel and exhaust conduit, and a forward end adapted to cooperatively engage with a fuel inlet port of the vehicle;
- wherein the fuel nozzle is configured to move along the exhaust passage of the exhaust nozzle such that the forward end of the fuel nozzle is urged into engagement with the fuel inlet port sufficient to create a substantially airtight seal between the fuel nozzle and the fuel inlet port to substantially prevent leakage of the outflow of captured exhaust into the fuel tank of the vehicle;
- wherein the multi-function nozzle assembly is configured to selectively dispense the flow of fuel through the fuel nozzle and into the fuel tank of the vehicle, off-load the captured exhaust from the vehicle through the exhaust passage of the exhaust nozzle, or a combination thereof.
