Abstract
An object is to provide a new type of near-infrared ray-emitting phosphor which exhibits excellent emission intensity. A near-infrared ray-emitting phosphor is represented by a general formula, (Y, Lu, Gd)3-x-y (Ga,Al,Sc)5O12:(Crx,(Yb,Nd)y) (0.05<x<0.3, 0≤y<0.3).

A phosphor mixture, comprising:
- a near-infrared ray-emitting phosphor represented by a general formula (Y,Lu,Gd)3-x-y(Ga,Al,Sc)5O12:(Crx, (Yb,Nd)y), wherein 0.05<x<0.3, and wherein 0<y<0.3),
- a Y3Al5O12:Ce phosphor, and
- a phosphor selected from the group consisting of a CaAlSiN3 phosphor, a SrCaAlSiN3 phosphor, a ScBO3:Cr phosphor, a (Ba,Sr)2SiO4:Eu phosphor, a (Ba,Sr)3SiO5:Eu phosphor, a (Lu,Y,Ga)3Al5O12:Ce phosphor, a La3Si6N11:Ce phosphor, and an α-sialon phosphor.
A near-infrared ray-emitting phosphor,
- wherein the near-infrared ray-emitting phosphor is represented by a general formula (Y,Lu,Gd)3-x-y(Ga,Al,Sc)5O12:(Crx,(Yb,Nd)y),
- wherein 0.05<x<0.3,
- wherein 0<y<0.3, and
- wherein the phosphor comprises both Yb and Nd.

A phosphor mixture comprising:
- a near-infrared ray-emitting phosphor represented by a general formula (Y,Lu,Gd)3-x-y (Al,Sc)5O12:(Crx,(Yb,Nd)y),
- wherein 0.05<x<0.3, and
- wherein 0≤y<0.3,
- a Y3Al5O12:Ce phosphor, and
- a phosphor selected from the group consisting of a CaAlSiN3 phosphor, a SrCaAlSiN3 phosphor, a ScBO3:Cr phosphor, a (Ba,Sr)2SiO4:Eu phosphor, a (Ba,Sr)3SiO5:Eu phosphor, a (Lu,Y,Ga)3Al5O12:Ce phosphor, a La3Si6N11:Ce phosphor, and an α-sialon phosphor.
