Abstract
Compounds are provided that function as thyromimetics, which compounds have utility for treating diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders. Pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds are also provided, as are methods of their use and preparation. Such compounds have the structure of Formula (I) as shown herein, or a pharmaceutically acceptable isomer, racemate, hydrate, solvate, isotope or salt thereof.
Claims24
A compound having the structure of Formula (I):
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable isomer, racemate, hydrate, solvate, isotope or salt thereof, wherein:
- X1 and X2 are independently selected from the group consisting of chlorine and bromine;
- R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, —ORa, —NRaRb, C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl, C3-C6 carbocycle, C3-C6 carbocylealkyl, C3-C6 heterocycle or C3-C6 heterocyclealkyl, wherein each C1-C6 alkyl, C3-C6 carbocycle, C3-C6 carbocylealkyl, C3-C6 heterocycle or C3-C6 heterocyclealkyl is optionally substituted with one or more of halo, cyano, —ORa, —NRaRb, —S(O)2Ra or —S(O)2ORa;
- and
- each Ra and Rb is independently hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl;
- with the proviso that when R1 is hydrogen and both X1 and X2 are bromine or both X1 and X2 are chlorine, R2 is not methyl.
