Abstract
A vehicle may receive sensor data captured by a sensor of the vehicle, determine that the sensor data represents an object in the environment, and determine an impact location between the vehicle and the object. The impact location may be associated with a predicted collision between the vehicle and the object. The vehicle may also determine an object type corresponding to the object and/or a characteristic of the object. Based at least in part on the impact location, object type, and/or the characteristic, a ride height of the vehicle may be adjusted.
Claims20
A vehicle system comprising:
- a suspension system;
- a sensor;
- a processor;
- and
- non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the vehicle system to perform operations comprising:
- receiving data captured by the sensor, the data representing at least a portion of an environment of a bi-directional vehicle;
- detecting, based at least in part on the data, an object within the environment;
- determining a probability associated with a collision between the bi-directional vehicle and the object;
- determining that the probability meets or exceeds a threshold probability;
- determining a direction of travel of the bi-directional vehicle;
- determining an impact location of the object on the bi-directional vehicle;
- and
- causing, based at least in part on the direction of travel and the impact location, the suspension system to adjust a ride height of at least a portion of the bi-directional vehicle.
A method comprising:
- receiving sensor data captured by a sensor associated with a vehicle in an environment;
- determining that the sensor data represents an object in the environment;
- determining a direction of travel associated with the vehicle in the environment;
- determining, based at least in part on the direction of travel, a predicted impact location of the vehicle with the object, the predicted impact location being associated with a predicted collision between the vehicle and the object;
- and
- causing, based at least in part on the direction of travel and the predicted impact location, a ride height of at least a portion of the vehicle to adjust.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions executable by a processor, wherein the instructions, when executed, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
- receiving sensor data captured by a sensor associated with a vehicle in an environment;
- determining that the sensor data represents an object in the environment;
- determining a predicted impact location of the vehicle with the object, the predicted impact location being associated with a predicted collision between the vehicle and the object;
- causing, based at least in part on the predicted impact location, a first action to be performed associated with adjusting a ride height of at least a portion of the vehicle;
- determining that the predicted collision occurred between the vehicle and the object;
- and
- causing, based at least in part on the predicted collision occurring, a second action to be performed associated with adjusting a hydraulic fluid pressure of a hydraulic fluid system of the vehicle.
