Composition for forming coating

A method for forming a coating of continuous fibers on a target object by electrostatic spraying using an electrostatic spraying device holdable by a human hand, the method comprising electrostatically spraying a composition comprising the following components (a), (b), (c) and (d):

• (a) 1 mass % or more and 30 mass % or less of one or more water-insoluble polymer polymers having a film-forming ability wherein at least one of said one or more water-insoluble polymers is a polyvinyl butyral resin, the polymer being soluble in component (b);
• (b) 50 mass % to 94 mass % of one or more volatile substances selected from the group consisting of an alcohol and a ketone;
• (c) a conductivity controlling agent to control the conductivity of the composition to 10 μS/cm or more and 300 μS/cm or less, the conductivity controlling agent being selected from the group consisting of a cationic surfactant and an anionic surfactant;
• and
• (d) 0.2 mass % or more and 25 mass % or less of water, wherein the fibers are formed by volatilizing the component (b) before the sprayed composition reaches the target object or immediately after the sprayed composition is attached to the object.
