Resource allocation method and apparatus

A terminal device for connection to a network having an access network device thereon, the terminal device comprising at least one processor, the terminal device processor being configured to:

• obtain a first parameter that indicates a maximum service data volume to be provided by the access network device for a first service in a first time length;
• obtain a second parameter that indicates the first time length;
• determine a total volume of the data of the first service transmitted in the first time length;
• and
• determine, based on the maximum service data volume, a resource that is a capacity of a media access control protocol data unit MAC PDU, wherein buffered data of the first service can occupy the capacity of the MAC PDU, including determine, based on the maximum service data volume and the total volume of the data of the first service, the resource that is of the MAC PDU and that is occupied by the data of the first service.

A terminal device for connection to a network having an access network device thereon, the terminal device comprising at least one processor, wherein buffered data of a first service can occupy a capacity of a media access control protocol data unit (MAC PDU), the terminal device processor being configured to:

• obtain a first parameter that indicates a maximum service data volume to be provided by the access network device for a first service in a first time length;
• obtain a second parameter that indicates the first time length;
• determine a total volume of data of the first service transmitted in the first time length;
• and
• determine, based on the maximum service data volume and the total volume of the data of the first service, the capacity that is of the MAC PDU and that is occupied by the data of the first service.
