Abstract
The present system generally relates to a tamper resistant cap that prevents unwanted access to a semi-tractor trailer's 7 ways connection. The system includes a controller that can be operated remotely to transmit signals to an actuator within the cap. The actuator operates a lock to secure the cap in the closed position and selectively unlock the lock to allow the cap to be opened.
Claims11
A tractor trailer security system comprising:
- a cover and a flap adapted to form a seal with the cover and that together are connected a tractor trailer such that combination of the cover and flap cover a seven-ways electrical connection of the tractor trailer,
- an actuator,
- a lock having a moveable lock arm,
- a controller connected to the actuator,
- wherein, the flap is movable with respect to the tractor trailer and adapted to form such that when the flap is in a first position, the seven-ways electrical connection is not accessible and when the flap is in a second position the seven-ways electrical connection is accessible;
- wherein, when the cover and flap are in the first position, the cover and flap form at least one closed cavity that accommodates the actuator and the lock arm.
