Abstract
The present disclosure provides FGF1 mutant proteins, which selectively bind to/activate FGFR1b. Also provided are nucleic acid molecules that encode such proteins, and vectors and cells that include such nucleic acids. Methods of using the disclosed FGF1 mutants to reduce blood glucose in a mammal and treat a metabolic disorder are provided.
Claims20
A method of reducing blood glucose in a mammal, comprising:
- administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of a mutated mature fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 1 protein comprising at least 95% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:
- 10, and retaining the N7H, N18D, D32E, Y64C, F85L, E90G, K101R, and N114S amino acid substitutions, thereby reducing the blood glucose.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
