Abstract
A device includes a memory that stores a User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) that includes a rule. The rule includes enhanced route selection descriptors (RSDs). Each of the enhanced RSDs may include special RSD parameter, such as a Technology selector. The device is configured to receive a request from a component, in the device, to establish a session with a network. The request includes request parameters. The devices processes each of the RSDs.
Claims20
A device comprising:
- a memory to store a User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) that includes a rule, wherein the rule includes route selection descriptors (RSDs), and wherein each of the RSDs include RSD parameters;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- receive a request from a component, in the device, to establish a session with a network, wherein the request includes request parameters;
- and
- process each RSD of the RSDs, wherein when the processor processes each RSD, the processor is further configured to:
- determine if the RSD parameters of the RSD include a Technology selector parameter;
- when the RSD parameters do not include the Technology selector parameter, apply the RSD to establish the session or to identify the session;
- and
- when the RSD parameters include the Technology selector parameter,
- compare a first technology associated with the session to a second technology specified by the Technology selector;
- when the first technology matches the second technology, apply the RSD either to establish the session or to identify the session;
- and
- when the first technology does not match the second technology, do not apply the RSD.
A method comprising:
- storing, in a memory, a User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) that includes a rule, wherein the rule includes route selection descriptors (RSDs), and wherein each of the RSDs include RSD parameters;
- receiving a request from a component, in the device, to establish a session with a network, wherein the request includes request parameters;
- and
- processing each RSD of the RSDs, wherein processing each RSD includes:
- determining if the RSD parameters of the RSD include a Technology selector parameter;
- when the RSD parameters do not include the Technology selector parameter, applying the RSD to establish the session or to identify the session;
- and
- when the RSD parameters include the Technology selector parameter,
- comparing a first technology associated with the session to a second technology specified by the Technology selector;
- when the first technology matches the second technology, applying the RSD either to establish the session or to identify the session;
- and
- when the first technology does not match the second technology, not applying the RSD.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising processor-executable instruction, wherein when executed by a processor, the processor-executable instructions cause the processor to:
- store, in a memory, a User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) that includes a rule, wherein the rule includes route selection descriptors (RSDs), and wherein each of the RSDs include RSD parameters;
- receive a request from a component, in the device, to establish a session with a network, wherein the request includes request parameters;
- and
- process each RSD of the RSDs, wherein when the processor processes each RSD, the processor is configured to:
- determine if the RSD parameters of the RSD include a Technology selector parameter;
- when the RSD parameters do not include the Technology selector parameter, apply the RSD to establish the session or to identify the session;
- when the RSD parameters include the Technology selector parameter,
- compare a first technology associated with the session to a second technology specified by the Technology selector;
- when the first technology matches the second technology, apply the RSD either to establish the session or to identify the session;
- and
- when the first technology does not match the second technology, do not apply the RSD.
