Cooperative messaging environments

A computer program product comprising:

• one or more computer readable storage devices and program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage devices, the stored program instructions comprising:
• program instructions executable for determining an availability of a plurality of messaging resources of a cooperative messaging environment (CME);
• program instructions executable for analyzing metadata associated with a first message from a first message producing application to determine an application property;
• program instructions executable for, responsive to receiving a request from a first message consuming application to distribute the first message, associating a first messaging resource of the CME with the first message consuming application;
• and
• program instructions executable for distributing the first message to the first messaging resource of the CME from the first message producing application based, at least in part, on the availability of the plurality of messaging resources of the CME and the application property.

A computer system comprising:

• one or more computer processors;
• one or more computer readable storage media;
• and
• program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more computer readable storage media for execution by at least one of the one or more computer processors, the stored program instructions comprising:
• program instructions executable for determining an availability of a plurality of messaging resources of a cooperative messaging environment (CME);
• program instructions executable for analyzing metadata associated with a first message from a first message producing application to determine an application property;
• program instructions executable for, responsive to receiving a request from a first message consuming application to distribute the first message, associating a first messaging resource of the CME with the first message consuming application;
• and
• program instructions executable for distributing the first message to the first messaging resource of the CME from the first message producing application based, at least in part, on the availability of the plurality of messaging resources of the CME and the application property.
