Electrical service adapter for supply side interconnect

A method comprising:

• mechanically connecting an assembly to an electrical distribution panel substantially at a location of a main circuit breaker, the assembly comprising for a phase of an electrical distribution panel:
• at least one utility-side electrical connector configured to be connected to a power meter conductor,
• a circuit breaker comprising at least one load-side electrical connector configured to be connected to a load-side conductor of the electrical distribution panel,
• at least one first mechanical lug electrically connected to the at least one utility-side electrical connector, and
• at least one second mechanical lug electrically connected to the circuit breaker,
• wherein the at least one first mechanical lug and the circuit breaker are electrically isolated,
• wherein the assembly comprises a housing;
• electrically connecting the at least one utility-side electrical connector to the power meter conductor;
• electrically connecting the at least one load-side electrical connector to a busbar of the electrical distribution panel;
• and
• electrically connecting at least one of the at least one first mechanical lug and the at least one second mechanical lug to an alternative electrical energy source.

An electrical distribution panel comprising, for a phase of the electrical distribution panel:

• at least one utility-side electrical connector configured to be connected to a power meter conductor,
• a circuit breaker comprising at least one load-side electrical connector configured to be connected to a load-side electrical conductor of the electrical distribution panel,
• a cover configured to prevent contact by a user with the electrical distribution panel,
• at least one first mechanical lug electrically connected to the at least one utility-side electrical connector,
• a housing, and
• at least one second mechanical lug electrically connected to the load-side electrical conductor,
• wherein the at least one first mechanical lug and the circuit breaker are electrically isolated, and
• wherein the housing comprises a cover that is configured to provide a dead-front to the electrical distribution panel.
