Systems and methods for remote detection of computer device attributes

A method comprising:

• receiving, by one or more hardware processors, a transaction request from an application running on a user device;
• transmitting, to the user device, code comprising an application programming interface (API) call associated with the application that causes the application to perform a function as part of processing the transaction request;
• determining a computer processor configuration of the user device based on device attributes of the user device;
• determining, by the one or more hardware processors and based on the computer processor configuration, a benchmark associated with executing the function by the user device, wherein the benchmark is determined based on one or more simulations of performing the function on a second device having the computer processor configuration;
• estimating a time duration used by the application of the user device for the executing the function;
• comparing the estimated time duration against the benchmark;
• and
• determining a risk associated with authorizing the transaction request based on the comparing.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:

• receiving a transaction request from a user device;
• transmitting, to the user device, code that causes the user device to perform a function as part of processing the transaction request;
• determining a computer configuration of the user device based on device attributes of the user device, wherein the computer configuration comprises a computer processor configuration;
• determining, based on the computer processor configuration, a processor cycle benchmark associated with performing the function by the user device, wherein the processor cycle benchmark is determined based on one or more simulations of performing the function on a second device having the computer processor configuration;
• estimating a number of processor cycles used by the user device for the performing the function;
• comparing the estimated number of processor cycles used by the user device against the processor cycle benchmark;
• and
• determining a risk associated with authorizing the transaction request based on the comparing.
