Abstract
Systems and methods are described for embodiments of a mobile virtualization platform (MVP) that may be embedded in an end user mobile device or comprise part of the firmware loaded on the device. The MVP may implement a thin layer of software embedded on the device to decouple applications and data from the underlying hardware, thus enabling the device to concurrently run multiple operating systems. Furthermore, the MVP may enable applications to run concurrently per each base band.
Claims40
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a device via a first network, a first portion of a media content item;
- processing, based on a first virtualization component of the device, the first portion;
- receiving, by the device via a second network, and based on determining that the second network has been accessible for a threshold amount of time, a second portion of the media content item;
- and
- processing, based on a second virtualization component of the device, the second portion.
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a device via a first network, a first portion of a media content item;
- processing, based on application data in a first virtualization component of the device, the first portion;
- sending, from the first virtualization component and to a second virtualization component, and based on determining that a second network has been accessible for a threshold amount of time, information associated with the application data;
- and
- processing, based on the information associated with the application data in the second virtualization component of the device, a second portion of the media content item received via the second network.
An apparatus comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
- receive, via a first network, a first portion of a media content item;
- process, based on a first virtualization component of the apparatus, the first portion;
- receive, via a second network, and based on determining that the second network has been accessible for a threshold amount of time, a second portion of the media content item;
- and
- process, based on a second virtualization component of the apparatus, the second portion.
An apparatus comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
- receive, via a first network, a first portion of a media content item;
- process, based on application data in a first virtualization component of the apparatus, the first portion;
- send, from the first virtualization component and to a second virtualization component, and based on determining that a second network has been accessible for a threshold amount of time, information associated with the application data;
- and
- process, based on the information associated with the application data in the second virtualization component of the apparatus, a second portion of the media content item received via the second network.
