Light fixture installation adapters and methods thereof

A light fixture installation adapter comprising:

• a first bracket attached to or configured to be attached to a light fixture;
• a second bracket configured to be attached to an electrical junction box;
• a mounting assembly comprising a first component and a second component attached to the first bracket and the second bracket, respectively, wherein the first component and the second component define a first set of features and a second set of features, respectively,
• wherein the first set of features are substantially aligned with each other along a vertical direction;
• wherein the second set of features are substantially aligned with each other along the vertical direction,
• wherein in a first orientation of the first and second components, the first set of features are freely moveable with respect to the second set of features along the vertical direction,
• wherein in a plurality of second orientations of the first and second components at different positions along the vertical direction the first and second set of features are substantially aligned along the vertical direction, and wherein in any one of the different positions the first set of features engage with the second set of features such that one or more of the first set of features are carried by one or more of the second set of features and such that the first bracket is positioned at one among the different positions along the vertical direction.
