Abstract
A downhole cable includes a central core. The central core includes a metal tube having a plurality of optical fibers therein or a copper wire. The downhole cable further includes an extruded aluminum tube surrounding the central core.
Claims9
A downhole cable, comprising:
- a central core, the central core comprising a metal tube having a plurality of optical fibers therein or a copper wire, wherein the central core has a maximum diameter less than or equal to 4.6 millimeters and greater than 2.2 millimeters;
- an extruded aluminum tube surrounding the central core;
- and
- a metal pipe disposed between the central core and the extruded aluminum tube, wherein the metal pipe has a maximum diameter between approximately 6.39 millimeters and approximately 6.45 millimeters,
- wherein the downhole cable has a maximum outer width of less than or equal to 12 millimeters.
